A convo in a classroom with a bench mate was always going to be fun…
So there I was sitting with many of my friends in the 2nd last row and falling asleep in the 2nd hour of the day……
It was stats class…Stats in the 2nd hour was some kind of a consolation because there was no power in this whole wide world which would stop/prevent/restrict us from falling asleep ,had it been some theory class…
So Statistics it was and we were doing Index Numbers…
6 different formulae to finally end up at a same solution seemed a little dumb…
But then it was given by 6 different statisticians…so much creative differences existed even then? ....quiet surprising…
Anyways …coming back…1 sum 6 methods…enough to while away 1 full hour…
So…..this is what I wanted to write about….About the language we used when we ruled Primary school…
I’m sure everyone of us must’ve said this at some point of time…when we were in primary school..
So…What did it mean?....Lets try and remember…
As far as my memory goes….I or anyone used this phrase probably when someone tried to do an inquiry/inspection …or something on the same lines with us…
“Why For You” was probably the best we did in that crunch situation….so whoever have used this phrase at least once in their respective primary school….give yourselves a standing ovation….it was perfect improvisation…
Come to think of it, it at least sounded less hostile when compared to our lingo now..
I mean, put me or anyone of us in a similar situation…. and the immediate reply would probably be “That’s None Of your Business”…or “Why do you think you are bothered” or something similar….whatever it was, it came with complete hostility…
1) “It is mines” ----Okay….Now we never knew that there is no word like mines…so whether we were claiming a small piece of an eraser or 100 gallons of Oil…we’d probably say “That is mines”…
2)”Wrong..Wrong..Wrong…Teacher will beat you”---Now …this probably came when
We were at our sadistic best….feeling totally overjoyed/elated/ecstatic that a classmate had committed a blunder in his notes or something….some crazy kids we were…
3) “I will tell to teacher”------ This one came with a tune….probably was of the highest sadistic order….when you’ve just found out that a classmate of yours hasn’t completed his homework or left his classwork book at home…..this is the chance to get an old revenge against him…he probably must’ve done something to you sometime back…so this was Payback time….seriously…crazy kids we were…hehe
4)”Nice Happened”------- A perfect way of rubbing salt to wounds….
These are the very few of our amazing phrases I could think of…
And at the end of it , I miss my school….God …please get me back there…
Anyways …It was a nice thing that we had this “Out Of Nowhere” convo….and the way my friend started it all…
Thank You Dude…..!!!!
