Its Ours Baby!!

Someone very famous said ...a walk of this nature will eventually end up being the longest ever..even if its back to the dug out from where they happily walk-in to bat...
The one on the top is no different...That man in red often referred to as "JUMBO" walks back heart broken...excuse the sadism, but makes me feel unusually good!!
What also make me feel good is that group of "hurdling- men-in-blue" in the background...well there are three reasons for my happiness:
1) Well, those bunch of winners represent the city I belong to, apna hydie!
2) ----Adam Gilchrist----
3) Those wonderful people behind have made possible, the most incredible underdog story ever, and its unscripted!!

Coming back to the boys in red...well, every second person was pinning his/her hopes on them...
Not just the boys in red...I've heard people talking about the chances of every other team to clinch this second extravagant season...I heard them..smiled..and from the inside I could only picture Adam Craig Gilchrist holding it high with paparazzi going crazy!
So much for my vision! ;)

When I said something like "the most incredible 'unscripted' underdog story", I meant exactly what I said...
Everyone says "wooden spoon winners-transform into-diamond studded trophy holders"..and I don't really have to add anything more to it...

The man who is often referred to "JUMBO" din't really make things easy for us...got Gilly in the first over and it felt like someone was carrying out an excavation experiment in my coronary artery :( .We never really "bounced back" as I thought we would...and a total of 143 did not make me feel any better...But then Sushmita tells me the pitch was slow and there was nothing that would stop us from winning...I knew about the slow pitch but the second half of what she said felt a little better...

Watching a match with your favourite cousin is great fun...I remember laughing our way through the last season where we won absolutely nothing at "home"...
And there we were...watching it together again, but this was THE FINAL!!

Coming back to it, RCB seemed like they'd break our hearts and take it away..but there was something that still told me we'll pull it off....

Now, this man in  red..is called Roelof Van Der Merwe...a very gutsy South African...
He came in after Kallis departed and like the commentators say "had his intentions clear"...
His aggressive approach could have landed them in an overwhelming victory...He sledged the bowler..he hit them all over...he danced down the track..and the rest is what the pic shows you...

Now, he maybe 37,but that doesn't mean he'll let you get away with a wild attempt to clear the ground...you leave the crease, you pay for it...Gilly kept it simple too!...infact simpler and the Hope for the DC fans reignited...

They wen't into the "strategic time out" at 68-3..and like Ravi  Shastri says "its still anybody's game"...It sure was!

There were post-break nerves for both the teams...and the pic on the top shows how this red soldier succumed to it...just when Harmeet Singh was going for runs all over and seemed like there was no way he could help the blues, there had to be a turnaround[that's the beauty of underdog stories!]
And the turnaround was literal...this cheeky/cute/sheepishly smart stroke played by our very own wall saw his leg stump uprooted...
On any other day, he would be called one of the smartest and finest cricketers India has ever produced...but yesterday was a different story...
He took so much pains to attempt this absolute crazy shot with the fine leg fielder deep...Harsha Bhogle was right..."The people in Narayanaguda,Hyderguda and Charminar and many more places will be chanting the words 'go wall!' "

Dravid tried a bout bat-wrestling with the unarmed air and green grass as he walked back to the dug out..and Gilly and co. could rejoice and regroup and smell the air which h
ad "H.I.S.T.O.R.Y" written all over it..in BLUE!

The Reds went on to fall and fall deep...from where they surely couldn't recover...Gilly and his boys had turned it around...only to shoot up from Position #8 to becoming the champs!...B.L.I.S.S!!

The victory lap and the trophy lift...as they did them far far away in the bull ring, back here in hydie, we were nothing less than ecstatic...all we could mutter was "freak..we  won!"...high-5s and hugs and fist punches were all part of the involuntary rituals...to celebrate the rise of the down and dusted pride of the Deccan Chargers...

Now, everybody know my love for this gentleman ...he managed to make me cry again in the form of a knock which read 85 runs off 35 balls...and that came in the semis against the "season's favourites" and has lead the team from the front...backed them..motivated them..and has done everything he should be doing as a captain and a senior player...and a lot more!

I remember the scenes last year...his dejection on the fact that he couldn't win a single game for the ever supporting home crowd...

But 2009 has been different...for him..for us...for the magical world of Indian Premier League...This ex-aussie wicket keeper batsman turned the tables on its head...Yet again he became my HERO on the field :)

-----We Freaking Won...We beat 7 Teams that were "supposedly" better than us-----

*****
P.S : More than the Hyderabad connection, Its Gilly's presence that's made me love the team..although not denying the fact that the diamond studded indian map which is going to sit pretty in hyderabad which is something that I'm going to be immensely proud of.

P.S.S:The beauty of this win is how after such a debacle last year, we defended the team by saying "Chalta yaaron..agla IPL apna ich hai!"...How about that for hope?? :)

P.S.S.S: And now that we go into the champions league as the best domestic T20 team and since its going to be held in India, Gilly, October mein milenge!;D

P.S.S.S.S: ItS OuRs BaBy!! *****

Hmmm....

Once upon a time...we were all small little kids...kids who knew nothing major about the world around us...we looked at huge buildings with awe and did not know why and how it was there...
our eyes were probably the sharpest catching the glimpse of every single thing around us...
It was that part of our lives when we did not really "control it"...We wore red t-shirts and blue lil shorts and shoes that made a sound every time we walked because our moms wanted us to wear them...
We walked along on a busy road with our respective dads...grasping that 1 long index fingers which had place for all our fingers to grip.
We lived a life where we were told what to do and what not to and we obviously did not complain...
So, all that we did and we believed in was because our folks did and believed in, in the same set of things...

Then, due to the laws of biology, we began to grow up...our fingers grew bigger than the ones that they held and our shoes dint have flashing-lights-and-sound-at-every-step we took...
The grey matter inside our heads helped us understand everything around us and derive the things that we din't grasp...
With gradual growth, we then entered what you call the "teen age"[on the verge of exiting it]....it was a real strange phase because it took us almost two years into it to realize what it really means....
So, by 15 we all knew what this new phase meant...it brought about a very interesting change in the form of our quest to understand things and raise questions against a handful of them that we din't.Logic was the word that ruled this phase and it was the catalyst for anything we believed in.

After a couple of decades there will come a time when our vision will fade out and we will begin to believe in certain things blindly. That phase can said to be marred by undeterred faith in things that we believe.

So, Life probably takes us through these wonderful stages with each of them having its own beauty.
This probably explains my ranting in the previous post and how I need the logic behind stars controlling our lives.
This also explains how our folks have their undying belief in them even if they can't give us the logic behind it...
Life is indeed as funny as it seems...It starts with believing in things because people around us do so...it moves on and we now start questioning things...we start thinking and hence protesting...and then comes the final stage of blind belief...and unless I enter that stage, I probably cannot decide if it is for the good or bad...right now it seems very scary..so lets see in the coming decades as to how well I can cope up...
Cheers!

Ridiculous!

To believe or not to believe doesnt seem to be the dilemma. To look for the logic or blindly believe in certain things have always been the problem.I'm 19 and what happened this summer was bound to happen at some point of time.
Not more than a couple of weeks ago I was in Tamil Nadu...on my vacation and not even an ounce of what I learnt back there, I could have possibly imagined...ever!

It is pretty open that our generation has never really understood the age old superstitions and have had their share of fun in going around questioning them.
And we'd be surprised to know that the strong[and blind] beliefs don't just stop at superstitions.
The scope of these beliefs stretch beyond any of our thinking and as they go deeper and deeper they only manage to ridicule me.

Now all of us know how certain things work in India and probably how they work in that unique [and horrific] way only in India.
Talking about one such thing to an uncle of mine I was shocked out of my wits to know about certain .Airquote open. Rituals .Airquote close. followed incase of any marriage [obviously arranged]..

Now, we've known our very own filmy version boy-meets-girl-fall in love-parent rivalry-lover kids go  against them-beat the odds and eventually win- happies endings!!!
Infact, things are even more rosier without the rivalry melodrama but lets have a reality check right there!...
Airqoute open. Mere Love Airqoute close. can't lead to the holy matrimony. It takes a lot Airqoute open.compatibility Airqoute close. and if you think you can marry me just because you love the same color as I do and have the same music tastes and every thing else, then you are in for a heart break because just these won't let you marry me..infact, these are not even compatibilities.
And if you are surprised-shocked-confused-all of these at the same time now,I wouldn't blame you and if you aren't there is a lot more to come but beleive me, it ain't for the faint hearted!

So here enter the AIRQUOTES OPEN. STARS. AIRQUOTES CLOSE.
These are supposed to control every single action of our lives...every single freaking action...
And for two people to be married there has to be some sort of a compatibility in both their respective stars.

Supposedly, around 7 tests of compatiblity are carried out with the so called stars of the two people and only if around 5 of them give positive results the marriage is on..or its just finished.

I'm not going into the detail of the few tests I learned about for I donot want to shock an otherwise strong section of people...
So basically before I can fall in love with you, I need to check on our compatability.

On a serious note, the reason why I found this concept unusually ridiculous is its devastating nature..
As long as it is giving favourable results it is acceptable but then, it also has the capability to ruin lives and with that trait it obviously won't go well with apna generation specially because it lacks a logic!...
But as much as I detest it, its going to go on forever and ever and even if my great grand children get ignited by this very post of mine, they can't manage to get rid of it and my next post will tell you why...

****P.S::: I was totally shocked when I learnt all this and had to talk it out to people of "my generation"...and decided that I'll write about it if I get at least 1 similar view...
Keerthi stayed diplomatic and eventually after the convo she could only manage to say "it may exist or it may not"...Bharat being my .Airquotes Open. BEST FRIEND .Airquotes Close. gave me a few scientific reasons to all this and made me look even more ridiculous and that's probably when I dropped the idea of writing about it but I still managed to talk to Sushmita about it and that's when and where I got my similar view and hence today Im blogging about it...should have gone by what she says..on how I should have asked her about it long long ago..
I probably can't prove my point on how I feel it doesn't exist, but the fact is that they are just illusions and non-existent beliefs and for me to change my stance, I need the LOGIC behind it!!

....

Its been almost half an year since the dreadful Mumbai Attacks took place. All we managed to get was one of the unknown-number of terrorists who barged into high profile buildings at the heart of the city, took in hostages which included a lot of foreigners, and kept firing till they had an ammunition burn out.

Well for the past 6 months we saw this issue bein tossed around in every parliament session...every political party had a take on it....not like it even mattered to anyone else...they just needed to give in their freaking opinion...Just when we thought we had gone through probably one of the most mentally gruelling phase, we had a lot more in store...

Political parties had to play around with the issue and out came the blame game...instead of finding out the immediete possible solution our "leaders" were busy accusing each other of it...

Well what could probably have caused it...a normal sane person could probably reason it out as a major security lapse combined with a very scary internal link to the external threat...

Whatever it was, it had occured and the next thing was to find out a solution for it...

News channels will go ahead and make it thier "meat of the day" for the rest of their running period...people will watch it over the dinner...agree with a few people in debate....feel sad for what happened and eventually switch channels...its not going to make any difference to them...

News channels will go on debating as long as they are making money out of it, people will switch channels, Politicians will blame each other and life will go on the same way till another attack of this sort takes place...

Coming back to the lone terrorist who was captured, I fail to understand as to why he is being given the right to a trial...I mean, Isn't he the same person who went on a kill frenzy at the Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus?...who was responsible for the deaths of the super high profile police offciers? and who also drove around in a police van and caused a lot of further damage?

If such a person is granted a fair trial then im ridiculed at the existence of  something as encounter because after giving this Man a fair trial, I don't think anyone would qualify for being encountered...it really can't get worse...

Now its not like certain things were not predicted before giving him the "fair" trail...

It was pretty obvious that he was going to take certain liberties and our "fair" system would obviously make allowances for it.

So yea, first he asks for a lawyer to represent him...then there is a controversy surrounding the appointed lawyer and then he demands for a pakistani lawyer...

He first confessess to have commited the atrocities[like we din't know!] and yet the trial goes on and on and he his demands keep increasing...he asks for flavoured toothpaste, perfume,Urdu Newspaper and a space where he can walk around...I begin to wonder if he is the same guy who was charged with murder, conspiracy and waging a war against India and many other such offences...

To add to all this, he has come out and denied committing any of the aforesaid killings and said that he had confessed under the threat posed by the police[Surprise! Surprise!]...

I don't know how efficient our political scenario has to be but seriously why is our judicial system so flawed??...Why can't such people be hanged to death or just be encountered...why can't there be such stringent laws for such criminals??....This condition of our judicial system has only led to 2 things...the common man has lost faith in it and the criminals are no more scared to commit any freaking crime...

If this goes on, the situation can become much worse and unimaginable...I wonder what the solution could be....
